Leather & Feathers

Leather and feathers is easily one of my new favorite texture combinations. The contrast between structure and softness creates a visually interesting look. What makes the details of my outfit work is how everything is black. I love wearing all black looks because the sleek color provides the perfect opportunity to play with different types of fabrics. My leather jacket, mini bag, suede boots, knit sweater and jeans create a dynamic mix of textures. The silver zipper detailing throughout my outfit contribute to the cohesion. Whenever I get dressed, these are the design aspects I think about. I'm constantly experimenting with how to put together outfits that have many layers, literally and in an aesthetic sense. Every element matters. 

What really makes this outfit are the feather over-the-knee boots. Any shoe could have been worn with this look, but these ones really make a statement. They have a haute-couture vibe and I can't believe I found them at my local thrift store. You'll be amazed what you can find while popping tags. These boots are made for walking (anywhere because there are no rules in fashion).
