April showers really do bring May flowers! It was so nice to finally be able to take pictures outside. Just as the flowers are in bloom, so is my dress from Urban Outfitters. I love the colors and ditsy floral print. It embodies the essence of spring. My trusty denim jacket, neutral sandals, Alex and Ani bracelets and Michael Kors watch complete the look.

Springtime Mint

Mint is one of my favorite colors to wear in the springtime. Not only is it on trend, it is refreshing and happy. This mint open knit tennis shirt from American Apparel is my latest obsession. It has that classic, girly look that I love while still feeling modern. I paired it with a floral skater skirt from Forever 21, Sam Edelman sandals, delicate vintage-inspired earrings, and my Michael Kors watch to achieve the perfect springtime outfit.

Prom 2014

 

Friday, May 16th was my senior prom. Prom always felt so far away and now it has come and gone. I went with my sister Maggie and we had a great time together. (Sisters make the best prom dates).  

 

One of my favorite parts of my prom experience was getting ready. I loved having my hair done and doing my makeup and nails. My hair inspiration was Anne Hathaway in The Princess Diaires and I went for a silvery smoky eye. I painted my nails the perfect shade of pink with a sparkly, aurora borealis accent nail to match the gems in my gown and jewelry.

 

When I put on my dress, my prom look was complete. My sister and I enjoyed taking pictures in our gorgeous gowns. Although our dresses were completely different, they complemented each other nicely.

Spring Fashion Haul

 

I finally got my spring fashion fix. I recently did some shopping at American Apparel, Brandy Melville, and Nordstrom to spruce up my spring wardrobe. Let's start off this haul post with my American Apparel purchases.

 

American Apparel

This was my first time ever shopping at American Apparel and I can now say it has become my new favorite store. I love how the clothes are made in America and are such great quality. I had to resist buying their crop tops and tricot skater dresses in multiple colors. Their wall of hair bows was also very tempting, but that is just another reason to go back!

 

 

 

Brandy Melville

 

I also picked up a few things at Brandy Melville. I needed a new black t-shirt and this one is so soft and comfy. Graphic tees are great to wear in the springtime and the New York t-shirt I found is just what I was looking for. (NYC is the fashion capitol of the world, so I think this one is very fitting). I was surprised at how thick and nice the material was, especially since some of Brandy Melville's clothes can be quite flimsy. My find of the day was a backpack on sale for only $20. It has loads of zippered compartments, is very spacious and made of a very convincing faux leather. I think it will be the perfect spring and summer staple.

 

 

 

Nordstrom

 

Finally, the Nordstrom BP 'Siam' Sandals I ordered recently arrived in the mail. They are simple while still being stylish. These sandals will go with everything and I cannot wait to style them.

 

 

I am looking forward to pairing these new pieces with some of my tried and true spring staples.
